Residents of LIV Student in Sheffield, Belfast and Dublin have propelled their homes-from-home to the shortlist of the unique Global Student Living Awards, the only industry awards based on direct feedback collected from tens of thousands of students around the world.
LIV Student is a finalist in two categories of the highly sought-after awards: Best Customer Service (UK & Ireland) and Best Small Operator (UK & Ireland).
The nominations are based solely on feedback from students participating in the Global Student Living Index, and come after our Belfast site was the first in Northern Ireland to meet rigorous standards for design and resident welfare when it secured the 3-star Fitwel accreditation last year.
This new accolade is particularly special for our Operations Director Peter Brook, who said:
“We’ve long known how excited our residents are about living in our buildings, telling us they love how they are designed with their student experience in mind and enjoy living so near to where they study and all the amenities in Belfast, Sheffield and Dublin.
“But it’s what they’ve said about our team that really means so much to us. When I read comments like ‘I love this place, it has a great sense of togetherness. Staff and students are always ready to help you do stuff, the accommodation is beautiful, and the people are kind and considerate. The accommodation is fantastic for disabled students.’ in student feedback, I’m thrilled. We’ve got top-notch teams of people doing everything they can to help residents love where they live in Belfast, Sheffield and Dublin and enhance their student lifestyle, and it’s wonderful to hear their work is so appreciated.”

“We regularly ask residents for feedback then we act based on what they’ve told us – for example, we’ve introduced regular events, work with other local and independent businesses, and come up with ways to help our residents and our local communities too. Many of our team members used to be students so they know the difference it makes to live somewhere you love. They are determined to make the place students spend such an important part of their life somewhere which is more than a bed for a night. I’m so proud of them and over the moon to see their efforts so appreciated by our residents.”
The Global Student Living Awards for the UK & Ireland, and Europe are based exclusively on direct feedback from tens of thousands of students about their student accommodation experience. With no written nominations and no ‘expert’ judges, the Global Student Living Awards are uniquely credible and highly prized.
The Winners of all UK & Ireland and European Awards will be announced on stage at GSL Live ’22: Net-zero Student Living in London on 20th October.
