Are you checking out of your LIV residence soon?
For those of you that are planning on checking out soon, we thought it’d be useful to give you some tips and guidance to ensure this process is as smooth and hassle-free as possible.
We love welcoming new tenants and whether you’ve stayed with us for one year or a few, we hope you’ve had many happy memories with us.
We get that there’s a lot to sort out when you’re moving out. We’re here to make this process simple! Here’s a few reminders to make your checking-out experience smoother.
Get your check out inspection booked in
We encourage you to book a check-out inspection with our team. This is an ideal way to end your tenancy as it’ll make you aware of anything that isn’t quite right, so you can sort it and therefore, it may help you avoid any charges.
The inspection will be very straightforward. We’ll simply refer to your inventory form that you received at check-in and check to see if there are any changes to your room.
Please note, if you weren’t required to send us a check-in inventory form (or did not return your form) at the start of your tenancy this means your room was confirmed as in good condition with no issues.
Cleaning your room
As part of the check-out process, it’s essential that you make sure your room and en-suite is clean and empty of all your items.
If you have any unwanted items, we encourage you to recycle them or donate them to local charities. We recommend you start throwing away unwanted items early as our bins can get full very quickly at this time of the year.
All rubbish must be disposed of responsibly. Any items left in your room will be removed and we will charge you for this service.
Cleaning your apartment
If you’re sharing an apartment, we recommend you speak to your flatmates to agree on the cleaning and clearing of the flat, as you may decide to check out at different times. We recommend you share this process so that it’s easier and quicker (and fairer!) for all of you.
Your hallway, living area and kitchen must be left clean and empty. Don’t forget to clean the inside of the fridge/freezer and clear out items from drawers and cupboards.
If there are any items or food left in the kitchen or hallway, then removal charges may apply to all flatmates. Any cleaning, damage and removal charges will be split equally between all flatmates.
An important reminder about damages
If an item in your room or apartment has stopped working or been damaged, please raise a maintenance ticket through the MyLIV app or inform us at reception before you check out.
You may be charged if there are unreported items in need of repair or any damage. Wear and tear is expected and you will not be charged if there’s no malicious damage. Please let us know if you need to report any damages or repairs before you check-out.
We’re here for you!
We hope the process of checking out and moving out is as smooth as possible. If you have any queries, get in touch with your friendly residence team and we’ll support you every step of the way.
