Exciting news from LIV Student! Our wonderful residents have helped us reach the shortlist of the prestigious Global Student Living Awards. These awards are unique because they’re based solely on feedback from tens of thousands of students worldwide, making this recognition even more special.
Our student accommodations in Dublin, Sheffield, and Belfast have been named finalists in two categories: Best Small Operator (UK & Ireland) and Best Student Broadband (UK & Ireland). This honour comes from the students who took part in the Global Student Living Index, and it’s clear that they love living with us. Our buildings are almost fully booked for the year ahead, thanks to many of our current residents choosing to stay.
Peter Brook, our Operations Director, is thrilled with this recognition. He shared, “We’ve always known how much our residents enjoy living here. They love the thoughtful design of our accommodations, the proximity to their universities, and the city amenities. But what truly touches us is their feedback about our team. Reading comments like ‘Amazing accommodation with friendly staff who are always happy to help,’ ‘Highly recommend, and the staff are lovely,’ and ‘Brilliant accommodation in a great area with lovely staff and security,’ makes me incredibly proud. Our team is dedicated to enhancing our residents’ experience, and it’s fantastic to see their hard work appreciated.”

This recognition also highlights our strong relationship with University Partners, Sheffield Hallam University, and Ulster University, through our continued nomination agreement for the next academic year. Peter added, “Being a key part of the accommodation our university partners recommend is a significant achievement for us.”
We’ll find out the winners of the Global Student Living Awards in October 2024. Peter emphasized, “We continuously seek and act on resident feedback. We’ve introduced regular events and initiatives that foster a sense of community, which have proven more effective than larger events. Our team also undergoes mental health first aid training to support our students better. Many of our staff were once students themselves, so they understand the importance of loving where you live. They’re committed to making our accommodations more than just a place to sleep. I’m so grateful for their efforts and delighted to see them recognized.”
The Global Student Living Awards are highly prized because they’re based exclusively on student feedback, without written nominations or ‘expert’ judges. This makes them uniquely credible. Data for these awards is collected through the Global Student Living Index. Registration for universities and student accommodation providers to participate in the next wave of the Global Student Living Index is now open.
